Northern Nevada NAIOP
Commercial Real Estate Awards
Submission Rules for 2024
Project Awards Rules:
This year’s project awards will recognize those projects completed between January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. Projects may be submitted for multiple categories.
The individual submitting the application must be a NAIOP Northern Nevada member (or have been directed by a NAIOP Northern Nevada member or sponsor). Any person or firm involved in the design, construction, development, entitlement, financing, or otherwise working on a project is eligible to submit for an award. However, the owner/developer of the project must give their consent for their project to be submitted. The owner/developer will be the primary recipient of the award with the applicant being mentioned as a contributor.
Entries are limited to projects located in Northern Nevada. Submission requirements include project summary, project narrative, square footage, completion date, address, developer/owner, contact information, description of project challenges and solutions, building details including any relevant MEP descriptions, statement of economic impact, information on sustainable design, and acknowledgment that the owner/developer’s permission has been obtained to submit the project for consideration. File uploads include a primary photo, optional site plan, and option floor plan. Additionally, the project team information is required including general contractor, architect, and any other important contributors.
The Awards Committee reserves the right to re-categorize a project upon receipt of entry. The Awards Committee also reserves the right to sub-divide entries within a given category or group multiple categories into one single category upon review of all applications.
Industry Awards (i.e. firm awards)
At least one executive of the firm or brokerage team must be a current NAIOP Northern Nevada member. Firms and/or teams should be active in commercial real estate services in Northern Nevada. For this year’s award ceremony, firm activity for 2024 should be included and considered.
Submission details required include firm name, description of firm’s specialties, employee count, deal or sales volume, description of notable deals, community involvement, industry related professional organization involvement, description of innovative practices, and NAIOP involvement. Uploads include up to six high resolution photos to support your submission and one high resolution company logo.
Commercial Broker of the Year
Submissions may be individual or team. Teams are defined as two to five individuals that work collaboratively as one business unit and share all commissions on deals worked on as a team. At least one member of the team must be a NAIOP Northern Nevada member.
For this year’s awards, deals for 2024 will be considered. This means that transaction volume and number of deals will include all deals closed between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
Submission details required include team name, firm name, all licensed team members, transaction count (2024), total transaction volume (2024), total square footage leased and sold (2024), list of your team’s five most significant transactions (2024), details/narrative description of the top one to two most significant transactions (2024), community involvement, industry-related professional organizations, NAIOP involvement, up to six high resolution photos to support your application, and one high resolution company logo.
Submission Timeline
Submissions for all awards are due by midnight on January 17, 2025. Winners will be announced at the NAIOP CRE Awards dinner on March 8, 2025.
Judging
The Awards Committee takes the judging process seriously to ensure fairness and impartiality. Here's a transparent overview of how your submissions will be evaluated for both Industry Awards and Project Awards:
Judging for the Industry Awards is carried out via an electronic survey by a select group of 6-8 esteemed judges appointed by the Awards Committee. These judges are out-of-market real estate professionals with affiliations to NAIOP National, representing diverse disciplines and market sizes.
As a part of the judging process, the Awards Committee may reclassify any submission categories or sub-divide categories. For example, if the Committee receives many applications for Industrial Building of the Year, the committee may decide to divide the category into over and under 500,000 square feet and award two winners. Similarly, if there are only a handful of submissions for Tenant Improvement of the Year, the committee may combine retail, industrial, and office into one TI of the year category.
Submissions may be disqualified if they are found to be untruthful, do not have the developer/owners permission, do not meet the requirements of the rules or the application form, or are not submitted by a NAIOP Northern Nevada member.
We maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in the judging process to ensure a fair and equitable evaluation of all submissions. Your success in these awards is a testament to your dedication and excellence in the commercial real estate industry. Good luck, and we look forward to celebrating your achievements at our event!
